You may be wondering "Why would anyone be against thrifting?". In my last post I talked about the environmental benefits of thrifting instead of resorting to the low prices of fast fashion. Thrifting can be a great way to expand your wardrobe in unique ways or just save a little extra cash. However, some people are concerned with the spike in trendiness surrounding thrifting.

Within the past few years "thrift flipping" has become a popular venture for young people trying to make some money off of thrifted clothing. According to Urban dictionary, thrift flipping is "thrifting clothes and then flipping the items to increase their value or to modernize their look." This trend is under scrutiny for taking resources from thrift stores that would otherwise be sold to low income people who can't afford to shop anywhere else.
